West Vancouver should be a place where people can build a life, raise a family, age in place and remain connected to their community.

That requires looking beyond any single issue. Housing, transportation, accessibility, recreation, arts and culture, public spaces and community services are connected and together shape whether people can continue to call West Vancouver home.
Improve How We Get Around & Support Local Business
Getting around West Vancouver affects almost every part of daily life—and the vitality of our local economy.
We need practical transportation choices while recognizing that cars will continue to be important for many residents. Better transit connections, safer walking and cycling, accessible streets and thoughtful traffic management can give people more options while making our commercial areas easier to reach and more enjoyable to visit.
Protect What We Value & Plan for Resilience
Protecting what makes West Vancouver special also means preparing it for the future.

Our trees, waterfront, parks and natural environment are part of what makes West Vancouver such a special place to live. They provide places to gather, stay active and connect with nature. Protecting them, while preparing for extreme weather, wildfire risk and a changing climate, requires thoughtful long-term planning.
I will work to:

Compare West Vancouver’s costs and service delivery with similar municipalities to better understand where differences exist.

Review areas such as procurement, consulting costs, service delivery, and capital projects for opportunities to improve efficiency.

Maximize external funding opportunities and explore regional partnerships that can help make taxpayers’ dollars go further.

Support long-term financial planning for infrastructure and community facilities.

Communicate clearly about municipal spending, priorities and trade-offs.
Good financial stewardship means getting value for taxpayers today while planning responsibly for the community we'll need tomorrow.
I will work to:

Support housing choices that respond to the changing needs of our community — including options for young people, families, renters, downsizers, and seniors who want to remain close to the people and community they know.

Focus growth thoughtfully, with attention to neighbourhood context, transportation, services, infrastructure, and good design.

Plan for the community facilities we'll need in the decades ahead, including a new Seniors' Activity Centre, arts and cultural space, and additional ice capacity.

Look creatively at public land and existing facilities to determine how they can serve multiple community needs.

Create welcoming public spaces where people of different ages and abilities can gather, participate and belong.

Protect heritage assets.

Make walking, rolling and cycling safer and more practical where appropriate.

Look for practical ways to improve traffic flow rather than simply accepting congestion.

Ensure parking and transportation decisions consider the needs of residents, visitors and local businesses.

Make municipal processes easier to navigate for businesses and reduce unnecessary barriers.

Invest thoughtfully in attractive, accessible streets and public spaces that encourage people to spend time in our local business districts.
Strong neighbourhood centres should be easy to reach, welcoming to spend time in, and good places to do business.
I will work to:

Protect and restore our urban forest, green spaces, streams, foreshore, watersheds, and environmentally sensitive areas.

Incorporate practical climate resilience into infrastructure and neighbourhood planning.

Use green infrastructure — including rain gardens, improved tree canopy, and natural stormwater management — as we renew streets and public spaces.

Look for practical ways to reduce energy use, emissions, and resource consumption in District facilities and operations.
Imagine some of our landscaped boulevards doing more than looking beautiful—capturing stormwater, supporting healthy trees, reducing pressure on drainage infrastructure and creating greener commercial streets at the same time.
